UPWARD BOUND PROGRAMS SUMMER INSTITUTE
Our Summer Institute component is actually the yearly start of the Upward Bound Program for new and returning participants. During the summer, UB participants have the opportunity to take academic preparation courses in Math, Language Arts, Science, and Foreign Languages, all of which are designed to give them a head start in school for the following school year. Also students are encouraged to adopt effective study habits that will follow them throughout their high school career and beyond.
Over the course of the summer, student participants engage in a full menu of college preparatory activities such as academic enrichment course work, mentorship activities, college admissions workshops, and motivational speakers. We incorporated co-circular workshops to allow each student to experience many hands on activities and gather resources that can better prepare them for college.
